Finding your kitchen counters

I had the absolute pleasure of work

ing with a new client who contacted me because she wanted to learn the basics of organizing. She felt that if she had help to organize her kitchen then she would be more likely to maintain the order. She bravely allowed me to take a before picture, as long as I swore to keep her identity hidden, which is a given in my line of work.

In a relatively short period of time, we were able to toss a lot of expired items, items that she no longer used or needed and create a lot more space.

  

It was important to clear off the countertops of the things she rarely used. By clearing out the cabinets of unwanted items, she now had plenty of room to store things like food, supplies, dishes and appliances.

She also had a small island that can now house all of her coffees, teas and bottled water.

This was a wonderful morning for both of us. We ended by discussing a voluntary homework assignment – to empty the fridge of unwanted items on the night before trash day. Imagine my GLEE when I received these pictures on trash morning! (And no, I’m not showing before pictures of the refrigerator, but trust me, it was FULL!).
