“Forgiveness does not change the past, but it does enlarge the future.” — Paul Boese
So – I come to you with my head hanging a bit lower than usual. I found out just a couple of days ago that my website has not been sending me ANY inquiries for YEARS – 5 YEARS to be exact. There are 366 people who reached out to me for help and I didn’t know about them until a couple of days ago. Imagine my horror. Imagine my shock. And yes, imagine my anger. Thankfully, I realized pretty quickly that there was nothing I could do about it other than say “OMG, OMG, OMG” over and over again until the reality set in. There were so many messages from so many different wonderful sounding people. If you are reading this now and are one of the people who never heard back from me, please accept my sincerest apologies. I felt this was a good first step in amending the situation. I’m sorry that I wasn’t there in your time of need but I hope you are doing better now and your needs have been met. IF you still need some help, please reach out to me directly at cindy@aim4order.com. My website IS working now so the old way will also work.
And now, on to this month’s topic – FORGIVENESS!
May 2026
Shoulda, Coulda, Woulda!
One of my father’s favorite expressions was “Shoulda, Coulda, Woulda” which was his reply when we would explain how we wished a situation would have been handled differently. Others say ‘Best Laid Plans” – a whole host of replies when things don’t go our way.
Decluttering and Downsizing and even Organizing fit right into the Shoulda/Coulda/Woulda category when we don’t reach our lofty goals in a timely manner.
Many berate themselves, say unkind things about themselves, sink into a remorseful spiral and lose all motivation to pick themselves up and get going.
That’s why this month’s topic is FORGIVENESS. I am practicing forgiveness with my website snafu (actually more than a snafu but does it really matter?). Here are some forgiveness quotes and see if any speak to you:
“Forgive yourself for not knowing what you didn’t know before you learned it.” — Maya Angelou
“Anyone who has never made a mistake has never tried anything new.” — Albert Einstein
“Anger makes you smaller, while forgiveness forces you to grow.” — Cherie Carter-Scott
“Forgiving [others] allows you to forgive yourself too.” — Jane Fonda
“I’m learning that how fast I forgive myself for making the wrong decision will determine how quickly I’m able to get out and correct it.” –Bozoma Saint John
“Let go of the idea that things could have happened differently, as if this life is a Choose Your Own Adventure book and you simply turned to the wrong page. You did the best you could with what you knew—and felt—at the time. Now do better, knowing more.” — Maggie Smith
“Why should we shy away with shame from having made a mistake? No human being is all wise; no human being always lives up to the best that he is capable of. Failure comes to everyone, except when one does nothing at all, which in itself is a failure. All we can do is to be honest with ourselves, be humble and try, as we gain wisdom, to rectify our mistakes and possibly to avoid some of them.” — Eleanor Roosevelt
Do you identify with any of these quotes? Is there ONE thing you can do right now to continue on your decluttering and organizing journey? Has anyone ever regretted getting stuff done?? When all else fails, grab a pencil/pen cup and get rid of the ones that don’t write, get rid of dried up sharpies, get rid of address labels that have your name misspelled, get rid of expired insurance policies or expired meds or coupons. You can do this.
And if you feel you are numb with overwhelm, get in touch. We stand ready to dive in and help clear away the clutter.
Our Aim 4 Order Family Has Grown
Back in 2004, Aim 4 Order was born on an evening walk with my husband, Howard. My vision was to work one on one with clients and help them feel better about themselves and their homes. Over the years, we expanded our services and our team and we are now 8+ people strong, still with the same goal of helping our clients feel better about themselves and their homes, and now provide additional services – Senior Moves, Estate Cleanouts, Storage Unit consolidation/elimination, Home Inventories and Selling items of value for our clients. And, we still love what we do. It’s never too early to get started when you feel overwhelmed by your stuff.
We would love to make life easier for you. Email me today at cindy@aim4order.com to explore working with us.
