Tips and Tricks: Are you your own worst enemy?

Are you your own worst enemy?

Quote of the Month

Are you your own worst enemy?

” Clutter is not just the stuff on the floor. It’s anything that stands between you and the life you want to be living. “
-Peter Walsh
Yikes – that’s rather blunt. But true. Think about the mental clutter going on in your head today. What can you let go of by either taking action or changing your perspective?

Attention Baltimore Seniors

class for seniors

Are you ready to muster the courage to get rid of the stuff you don’t need? Join me at the Myerberg Senior Center for Let My Clutter Go , a 16 week class beginning January 2nd. Together, we’ll laugh at the lengths we go to avoid getting organized. And while the fun is happening, each participant will be inspired to get busy as soon as they return home each week to carry out “bite sized” decluttering homework. Click here for more information. The class is on page 18. I’d love to see you there.

Feeling the Love (of Yourself)

All you need is love

I’m guessing we’re all familiar with the expression “I’m my own worst enemy.” I hear it on a regular basis. When it comes to improving yourself or your home and its surroundings, we often have a defeatist attitude.
Does any of this sound familiar:
  • Why bother – it’ll just go back to being a mess in a day or two
  • I’ll never be able to get my act together
  • I’m not good at organizing
  • I can’t throw my stuff out
  • I’m not physically up to it.
  • I just don’t care anymore.
Well – if you’re still reading this, you DO care. You DO want to get your home (and self) together. And today’s little post is to encourage you to take one small action step TODAY to feel better about your home (and yourself).
Organizing is really about feeling at peace – at least that’s why I created Aim 4 Order – to bring peace and good feelings to those adversely affected by clutter. So today, take one small action that will have you feeling proud of yourself.
Some Ideas:
  • Get rid of miscellaneous stuff from a silverware drawer
  • Empty out an old used purse or wallet (and I bet you’ll find some spare money while you’re cleaning it out)
  • Trash old stained pillows and mattress covers
  • Toss broken hangers
The list of possibilities goes on and on. Bottom line is to pick ONE THING that you can feel proud about starting and finishing in a few minutes.
Please let me know how it goes! And Happy Holidays doing whatever you enjoy doing. May the love of yourself blossom and grow each and every day so you won’t be your own worst enemy.
