Do it yourself organizing – think about it.

Do It Yourself Organizing

Do it yourself organizing – bathroom supplies
Due to the coronavirus, it appears that many of us will be spending more time at home in the coming days and weeks….what better way to fill the time by doing some good old fashioned decluttering and organizing! You can do as much or as little as you like. And it all starts with taking one small action.
For those of you who can dig in on your own, try this:
  1. Decide which room in the house upsets you the most.
  2. Pick one small area to tackle in one sitting.
  3. Sort ‘like things together’ and toss/recycle/donate the items that you no longer use/need or have way too many of (think extra bags, pens, socks…depends what room you’re in)
  4. Decide what items you definitely need to keep in the area due to frequent use.
  5. Relocate anything that you don’t use often…think top shelves or more remote areas but if you’re afraid you’ll forget where you put it, make a ‘cheat sheet’ to tape on the inside of a cabinet in the room where you used to keep it.
  6. Shop around your home to see if you already have storage containers or organizing products BEFORE you buy anything new.
  7. Bag/box anything that’s trash, recycle or give away.
  8. Schedule time in your calendar to get rid of what you no longer need.
  9. Celebrate by doing something fun for yourself (except for impulse shopping).
For those of you who are completely overwhelmed and numb about how to start, consider contacting me for a virtual session. That’s right – we can connect via FaceTime or Phone or Zoom and get you started in minutes! Our virtual session can last 30 minutes or an hour. We can get you started and you have the option to continue the call after you do your agreed-upon assignment or we can schedule a follow up session when the mood strikes. This could be a great way to restore peace and order in select areas of the home without investing too much time or money. And remember, a call with me includes resources for how to get rid of what you don’t want!
Email me today to learn about pricing and how to schedule your virtual organizing session. (PS – if you would like to schedule an in home session, a member of the Aim 4 Order team is ready to work IN your home anytime – please email me for information about that, too!).
Make the most of these unusual times – you won’t regret one minute of decluttering time – I promise!
